Imagine this ancient story:
Darkness
Deep
Abyss
Tartarus
The darkest pit, sometimes thought to be the ultimate prison.
But
Suddenly
Light!
(To quote the beautiful poet, Jan Richardson, “I cannot tell you how the light comes. I only know that it does.”)
And it did.
According to the Greek playwright Aristophanes, the Light had a companion who also burst forth.
Eros, Love, Desire.
And the playwright declared that before Love and desire mixed in, there were no “deathless gods,” or indeed much of anything at all.
So in this month of sourcing ourselves in joy, let’s look deep into the darkness, watch for the light to emerge, and see with it the magical beingness who embodies love.
