Welcome to the Rose Garden

And this time of Dedication and Re-Dedication to your life.

You know why you have chosen to live at this time on earth: You have come to discover, recognize, hone, and offer a gift, one that only you can give.

The process of coming to this realization, this remembrance, of your gift and with it your purpose, has created a pathway for your life, or perhaps you have joined and thus enriched a path that many others have traveled.

Such pathways come with many names:

•  the path of the mystic toward union;
•  the path of the hero toward wisdom and fulfillment;
•  the path of the artist toward mastery and full expression;
•  the path of pathways toward engagement with the eternal;
•  the path of the practice of joy, a path to accompany all the paths;
•  the pathless path toward the great mystery.

Within and around all those pathways are several primal guiding elements: Love, Joy, Beauty. And Creativity. These forces also comprise the holy power that is the goal of all paths, the Rose Garden. That inner divine soul home which Niyazi Misri, Sufi master and poet, recognizes and lures us toward.

At some level– perhaps obvious, perhaps hidden–both giving the gift and receiving the gift provide, sustain and enhance joy. That’s what this month of Dedication is all about, restoring ourselves to the true path that is our life story. This invites us to honor with joy the gift we are here to offer, and to keep making it stronger and clearer with joy. And giving it more skillfully and playfully, without attachment, but with joy, such joy!
